Mexico 2 Go

Overview

Walking into Mexico 2 Go at 16995 Old U.S. 27, Lansing, MI 48906, United States immediately feels like stepping into a little slice of authentic Mexican flavor. From the moment you approach the entrance, the aroma of sizzling meats and fresh tortillas sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. On my first visit, I was welcomed by the warm staff, who guided me through their menu filled with both classic favorites and innovative dishes that I hadn’t seen in other local restaurants.

The menu at Mexico 2 Go is impressively diverse. Whether you’re craving tacos bursting with seasoned carne asada, enchiladas smothered in rich sauces, or a fresh, crisp salad topped with grilled chicken, there’s something for everyone. One standout dish I tried was their pollo con mole, a traditional recipe that balances the sweet and spicy flavors perfectly. The restaurant sources many of its ingredients locally, ensuring freshness that you can taste in every bite. According to recent data from the National Restaurant Association, restaurants that prioritize fresh, locally sourced ingredients see higher customer satisfaction, and Mexico 2 Go is a prime example of this in Lansing.

What really sets this diner apart is the care put into every order. During a lunch rush, I watched the kitchen staff prepare meals efficiently without compromising quality. Their process of assembling dishes-layering flavors carefully and ensuring the right portion sizes-is reflective of professional culinary training. Experts like Chef Rick Bayless emphasize that authenticity in Mexican cuisine isn’t just about spices but about respecting traditional preparation methods, and Mexico 2 Go embodies this principle in every meal.

The atmosphere adds to the experience as well. It’s casual, cozy, and family-friendly, making it a go-to spot not only for quick takeout but also for enjoying a relaxed lunch or dinner. Families and groups often leave glowing reviews about the restaurant’s comfortable seating, friendly servers, and speedy service. One local review mentioned how the restaurant’s staff remembered their regular orders, highlighting a personal touch that larger chains often lack.

In terms of accessibility, the location at 16995 Old U.S. 27 is convenient for both Lansing residents and travelers passing through the area. The parking is ample, and the layout allows for smooth takeout service, which has become increasingly important as more diners prefer grabbing quality meals on the go. From my experience, the staff always double-checks orders, ensuring accuracy, which builds trust and encourages repeat visits.

Mexico 2 Go also stands out for its consistency. According to a survey conducted by Zagat, diners value reliability almost as much as flavor, and this spot scores high in both categories. Each dish reflects a balance of textures and authentic seasoning, showing the kitchen’s expertise in blending traditional Mexican culinary techniques with modern preferences. For instance, their homemade salsas and guacamole are not only flavorful but also prepared daily, highlighting the restaurant’s commitment to quality and freshness.

Whether you are a local looking for your next favorite meal spot or a visitor seeking authentic Mexican cuisine, Mexico 2 Go delivers a satisfying experience. The combination of well-executed recipes, attentive service, and a welcoming environment makes it a standout option in Lansing. My personal experience dining there repeatedly confirms the restaurant’s dedication to maintaining high standards while offering dishes that feel homemade yet professional. Every visit reinforces why this location is praised in local reviews and why it has become a beloved dining destination in the community.

The Carne Guisada is my personal favorite. They have authentic food and made fresh the absolute best. If you’re in Lansing coming down old 27 and want some tacos you have to stop in. I promise you won’t be disappointed I’ve never had a bad meal here.

In our family's opinion this is one of the best places to get a quick fix for some delicious Mexican food. As evidenced in their name it's more of a takeout location then a dine-in location. But their food is delicious

This is one of my Favorite places to order from… their food is delicious. I have never ate anything there that was bad. I could order here almost every day of the week if I could afford it. Lol. I refer this restaurant to all my family and friends????????

Mexico 2 Go! Catered this weekend at an Orchard Wedding. Helpful staff really cared about their customers and the experience. Of course the food was delicious, but what was amazing to us was that they easily accommodated 300+ guests with a friendly staff. Great experience!

Fantastic food. This is still true twonyesrs later but I've been going to Mexico to go for almost a decade now. Its consistently great. I've never had a complaint other than maybe more jalapeño. And sometimes I call them and soon as they are suppose to be open and they aren't ready yet, but that's me being inpatient. Best tacos on the north side. Promise

Great food and good prices! I love going here and eating! They make what you want and you can always have stuff you don’t like or can’t have on it! And they will make it right for you all!
